MWEMBE Chulu of the Black Muntu duo has urged fans to continue being patient as the ‘Kings of Kalifunku music’ are surely releasing their long awaited third album soon.
Mwembe told the Times Weekend Entertainment that he is aware that Black Muntu lovers have for a long time been itching to see him and Leo Bweupe reunite after going separate ways to concentrate on solo projects.

Mwembe said Black Muntu’s comeback album is likely to contain eight tracks and that the fans should expect the duo’s latest offering towards the end of next month.
“Well, let me say this, I didn’t want to spill the beans. But we are almost done. Maybe three songs to go, so people should look out, it’s coming.
“I can promise the Zambians out there, this is April, (that) by May month-end, they will have something. That will be out then,” Mwembe said.
Mwembe, who is also Zambia Association of Musicians spokesperson, said he was alive to the fact that Black Muntu became a household name. The outfit inspired many people and helped to mend broken homes hence people’s eagerness to have him and Leo back in the studio together again.
Black Muntu released a debut album, Wisakamana, in 1999 followed by Kokoliko in 2002 before parting ways.
The two albums are renowned for having songs like Mayo wandi wachibili, Chanigwila kumoyo, It’s ok, Chibeibe and Kabudo.
Mwembe and Leo then went on to pursue solo careers. It seems they have now succumbed to pressure to release their yet-to-be titled reunion album.
