Mt Meru bosses in court

THREE managers from Mount Meru filling station in Lusaka have appeared in court for confinement of employees for three days without food or water.
Shah Chintu the retail manager, Thuleya Patel Dodia, training manager and Dhamit Shah, the operation manager, are charged with three counts of wrongful confinement.
Last week, some workers at Mount Meru Filling Station complained to the Times of having been locked up in an office for three days without food or water for alleged misappropriation of funds.
The workers had appealed to the Police to expedite investigations and arrest the managers at the filling station for locking them up.

Lusaka Province Police Chief Charity Katanga had also confirmed investigations into the incident.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Kenneth Mulife yesterday, Chintu, Dodia and Shah denied committing the offences.
Chintu, Dodia and Shah are alleged to have on March 21, this year, detained Machina Mbewe against his will.
They again on March 31, confined Chikwami Taitai and Eunice Chikwami.
Mr Mulife has set May 18, 2015 as a date for commencement of trial.
