THE Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) has unveiled a K140, 000 budget to host Mr Ironman slated for June 6 at Taj Pamodzi in Lusaka.
Mr Iron Man bodybuilding contest returns to the stage after a two-year absence with the last edition having been held in 2012.
ZBBFF president Emmanuel Chimuka said at a Press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the contest will be national and has attracted about 50 participants.
Chimuka said Seven-Eleven has come to the aid of the association by donating K20, 000 towards the hosting of the event and appealed to other companies to come on board and help raise the required amount.
“We will be hosting Mr Ironman in June which is the first event on our calendar and we are appealing on the cooperate world to come on board. The response from the cooperate world was been overwhelming and we are confident that the budget will be met in good time,” he said.
ZBBFF general secretary Cornelius Chanda said the winner of the championship will walk away with K10, 000, which is K7, 000 more than what Mwila pocketed three years ago.
“This year Mr Iron man will be better than before, the first prize winner will walk away with K10, 000 and the best 10 bodybuilders will defiantly not go away empty handed,” Chanda said.
Chanda said the best four musclemen will go on to represent the country at an international tournament to be hosted in South Africa in August.
