A THIRTY-TWO-YEAR-old man of Chief Singani’s area in Choma has died after being hit by a motorist about 22 kilometres into Pemba town along the Lusaka-Livingstone Road.
Brian Moono, of Chiweza Village, was hit by a Toyota Land Cruiser registration number ABG 3216 driven by Brian Katongo, 35.
Southern Province police chief, Mary Chikwanda confirmed the incident which happened on day around 03:30 hours at Nachibanga area.
Ms Chikwanda said Mr Moono, who was hit as he tried to cross the road from the left lane to the right, sustained fatal body injuries.
“The driver has since been charged with dangerous driving and has been remanded at Pemba Police station while the body was deceased is at Batoka clinic mortuary,” she said.
On the same day, police in Monze picked up remains of a fetus suspected to have been aborted by an unknown woman in Mukanda Township.
Police rushed to the scene and picked the head and intensities of the fetus.
