THE Zambia Under-23 soccer team resumes training today for the Congo Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games (AAG) final round return leg qualifier against Nigeria.
Zambia hosts Nigeria next weekend in the last stretch of qualifiers after drawing 0-0 in the first leg away in Abuja and a win will see the Fighton Simukonda side clinch qualification.
Simukonda said his team will do its best to ensure qualification to the finals and put some smiles back on the Zambian fans who have in the recently expressed bitterness with the poor performances of the various national teams.
He remained hopeful that Zambia will qualify and that he still has time to perfect the squad ahead of the match on April 11.
“The team is regrouping today after a break that saw players released to the Chipolopolo and respective clubs. It is good the players played some matches and we have enough time to prepare,” he said.
The Pan-African Games will be held in Congo-Brazzaville starting September 4-19.
