The festival opens today in Livingstone and is expected to attract over 2,000 international and local travelers
The LICAF 2015 will go on up to Saturday this week.
Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) managing director Felix Chaila said the festival would be used to promote Zambia’s culture, cuisine and at the same time stimulate domestic tourism.
Addressing Journalist in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Chaila said the LICAF had attracted four countries namely Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Botswana and Mozambique.
“This should create an opportunity for Zambians to celebrate with us art and culture. This event will be free so we encourage Zambians to come in large numbers,” he said.
The LICAF was first held in May 2013 in Livingstone, mainly as a curtain raiser to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General assembly which was held in August of the same year.
