NKANA coach Beston Chambeshi has lamented his side opening day 1-0 loss to Red Arrows in the 2015 MTN-FAZ Super League season opening match at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Chambeshi said in a post-match interview at Nkana Stadium that the defeat was unexpected.
“I think it is a bad start considering the way we prepared for the first game. But I am happy with the way the boys played. You know in football they say the best team loses,” Chambeshi said.

Chambeshi said he was backing his striker’s to come good as the team adjust to life without Ronald Kampamba who left for Egyptian club Wadi Degla in  February.
“I am happy with the attack they attacked very well but all that is missing is the killer punch,” he said.
Striker Francis Kombe scored the winning goal in the 28th minute when he returned to haunt Nkana for a second straight time after also scoring against his ex-club in a 2-nil win last November at the same venue.
Kombe joined Arrows from Nkana in the 2014 July transfer window after finding little opportunities at the Kitwe club just six months after earlier joining them from Power Dynamos.
Arrows coach Mathews Phiri said he was hopes the win over Nkana will set the tone for his side this season.
Arrows flirted with demotion last season that saw them escape to finish eighth after struggling through the 2014 campaign.
“You know when Arrows and Nkana play, they are sister clubs but when we get on the pitch it is a different story. We fought hard and they gave us a good run,” he said.
Meanwhile, ‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers assistant coach Chewe Mulenga has described Sunday’s loss to Konkola Blades as a minor setback.
The nine-time champions were denied a dream start after a ten-year top flight absence when they lost 1-nil at home against Blades at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Mulenga said in a post-match interview that playing the home game away in Kitwe was not a factor in Sunday’s loss.
“The guys played well although we made some errors when we failed to utilize the chances we had. We will go back to the drawing board and check where we went wrong but I am promising we will catch up and win the next game,” he said.
Blades snatched the three points in the 6th minute through a Dave Kalandanya goal.
Blades coach Enos Silwimba said he was excited to have started with a win especially after they escaped demotion in the 2014 season to finish in 12th place.
“It is vital that we started with a win. It was very important to start with a win because if you look at the table last year we finished on a knife edge,” Silwamba said.
