By FELIX MALUNGA –
DESPITE being thrashed 4-0 by CF Mounana on Sunday in the CAF 2015 Confederation Cup, Power Dynamos coach Tenant Chilumba remains a firm believer of miracles and is not yet ready to surrender to the Gabonese side.
Power will need to score a near-impossible five unanswered goals in the return leg of the first round on April 4 in Kitwe to progress to the next stage of the competition.

In an interview from Libreville yesterday, Chilumba said the tie was far from over and that with a bit of luck, Power could upstage Mounana at Arthur Davies Stadium in the second leg.
“This fixture is not yet over. It has happened before (scoring an avalanche of goals at home) and sometimes, there is an element of luck in football,” he said.
Chilumba said he was confident that Power were capable of turning the tables at home and progress to the second round of the Confederation Cup.
He appealed to the Zambian football fraternity not to write off Power just yet.
“I’m very confident that at home we will still get a good result. I know we can still score five goals at home. People shouldn’t be negative because in football there are three results – win, draw and loss. You have to accept whatever result you get,” the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) silver medallist said.
On Power’s heavy defeat in Libreville, Chilumba said his charges dropped their guard after conceding a penalty coupled with suspicious officiating by Malawian referee, Duncan Lengani.
He, however, said Mounana were a good side with youth players and were more organised on the day.
“We were on top but after conceding an early penalty, the boys were demoralised. We struggled after conceding and we tried to talk to the players to step up. Officiating was also suspicious, at one time our entire technical bench rose to talk to the match officials. Alex Ng’onga scored a clear goal but the referee despite the ball deflecting past a defender (Mounana), he ruled it offside,” he said.
With that defeat, Chilumba said Power had learnt a lesson and would work hard to recover.
To reach the first round, Power eliminated AL Khartoum 2-1 on aggregate after winning 2-0 in Kitwe after losing 1-0 in Sudan.
