THE Ndola Hindu Samaj in conjunction with Anekant Community Centre of the United States of America (USA), has donated medical equipment worth US$40,000 to Ndola Central Hospital (NCH) and Arthur Davison’s Children Hospital (ADH).
The medical equipment donated includes Hemo-Dialysis Machine, which will be used in patients whose kidneys have stopped functioning, Oxygen Concentrators, which would be used to give additional oxygen to people who have trouble in breathing.
Hindu Samaj also donated  other supplies for routine medical care, procedure  and operations.
Chairperson Chiraag Valand said  his organisation was happy to partner with Anekant Community Centre to  support health care in Ndola.
The medical personnel involved in the donation visited Zambia last year and met with representatives from NCH and ADH where they inquired about their needs.  The team was led by Nitin Shah, an accomplished anesthesiologist of Long Beach, California
“They have kept their promise to send medical equipment to the two institutions,” Mr Chiraag said.
He said his organisation would continue to support health care and attend to social needs in the community.
“We believe access to good health improves the quality of life for any people,”
Ndola Central Hospital Head of Clinical Care Sebastian Chinkoyo thanked Ndola Hindu Samaj for the gesture.
