FAROOK Ticklay says winning the first leg of the national motor rally has given him confidence to challenge for the title.
Ticklay won the season opening Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) Madmax national rally held in Chisamba after clocking one hour 50 minutes and 17 seconds to win the highly competitive 170 kilometre race.
He said winning the rally has given him the impetus to go far and challenge for the title and that it was the first rally he was winning in his two-year racing career.
“It was not an easy rally but I am very happy that I have won the Madmax rally and I believe this will give me the courage to fight for the national title. This is the first rally have won in my two-year career and it has really encouraged me to aim high,” he said.
Ticklay and his navigator Jasmine Singh pocketed K5,000 from which K4,000 came after winning the rally and K1,000 for topping Class A which comprises elite drivers.
