PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says the Government will resolve challenges the army personnel are facing.
Mr Lungu said his Government was aware about the many challenges army personnel were facing and that Government would ensure that they were addressed.
Mr Lungu said this in a speech read for him by Army Commander Lieutenant General Paul Mihova when he addressed, soldiers, civilian employees and soldiers’ spouses.
This is according to a statement released yesterday by the Zambia Army public relations directorate.
He extolled the soldiers’ spouses for not engaging themselves in active partisan politics.
Mr Lungu applauded the military personnel for exhibiting maturity and professionalism during the transition following the death of late President Michael Sata.
Meanwhile, Gen Mihova said the Zambia Defence Force has received accolades from the region and the World for conducting themselves professionally during the last Presidential election and reiterated his call for the army to remain professional, united and non partisan at all times.
“All army personnel should always support the Government of the day and continue being loyal to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed forces and the Zambian people,” he said.
Gen Mihova who was on a five-day tour of army units based on the Copperbelt Province also officially opened a secondary school at Mushili Barracks in Ndola and a pre-school at Taung-up Barracks in Mufulira.
