ZESCO managing directorn (MD) Cyprian Chitundu has been fired.
Mr Chitundu was appointed Zesco MD in October of 2011.
Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister Christopher Yaluma said in a statement that Mr Chitundu has been replaced with Zesco chief operations officer Victor Mundende.
The changes come after Government dissolved the utility company’s board of directors last week.
“I am pleased to inform you the general public that Mr Mundende has been appointed as the new managing director for Zesco replacing Mr Chitundu,” Mr Yaluma said.
Mr Yaluma thanked Mr Chitundu for his contribution while at Zesco.
“May I take this opportunity to thank Mr Chitundu for his contributions towards the performance of one of the strategic parastatals in the country,” he said.
