THE Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) will hold its non elective annual general meeting on March 7 at the Mulungushi University in Kabwe.
ZCU president Reuben Chama said in a statement that with the meeting being a non-elective one, the members will review the year 2014 and plan ahead for activities for the 2015 calendar.
Chama said a number of activities have been lined up for this year among them being Zambia’s participation at the Triangular T20 tournament to be held from May 15 to 17 in Mozambique.
“We have received several invitations for us to compete in various tournaments and we are grateful that our Mozambique Cricket Union considered us to take part in the Under-20 Triangular T20 tournament that will also feature Malawi,” he said.
Chama said Zambia will also compete in the Under-15 T20 schools boy’s tournament in July and that these competitions will help ZCU in its continuous bid to expose the youngsters.
He said the meeting will look into matters of appointing and other honorary office bearers if be considered necessary.
Chama said the meeting will deal with the minutes of the last AGM or of any Special General Meeting and to deal with business arising from those minutes.
He said the council will also receive the annual report of the president as well as receiving and dealing with the annual report of the treasurer and the audited annual financial statements.
Chama said the meeting will appoint auditors for the current financial year and authorise executive committee to fix auditors’ remuneration.
“The meeting shall also consider any other business of which due notice has been given, in writing, to the secretary, at least 14 days before the due date of the meeting,” he said.
