A thirteen-year-old boy of Chipulukusu Township in Ndola has appeared in court for breaking into a bar and stealing money amounting to K195.
The boy appeared before Ndola magistrate Misozi Banda and pleaded guilty to one count of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.
It was alleged that the juvenile offender on January 20 this year in Ndola broke into a bar in Kabushi Township belonging to Sam Mkandawire and stole money amounting to K195.
Ms Banda however, adjourned the case to February 24 this year for written facts and social welfare report.
The boy is remanded in prison.
Meanwhile, a manager at Mahogany Bush Lodges in Choma has pleaded guilty to falsifying a receipt purporting that the Lodge received money for accommodation.
Zepher Munyumbwe, 43, of Richland Lodge Plot No. F350 was charged with two counts of fraudulent false accounting and theft.
In the first count, it is alleged that on December 10, 2014 in Choma, Munyumbwe being employed by Mahogany Bush Lodges and acting on behalf of Richland Lodges as manager falsified receipt number 0109 purporting to show that Richland received K230 for accommodation.
Munyumbwe took plea on Tuesday, before Choma Magistrate Mbololwa Mukela.
Munyumbwe told the court that he received the K230 for accommodation but he did not issue the receipt to the client.
“I did not write on the original receipt but on the duplicate,” he said.
In the second count, it is alleged that on the material date, Munyumbwe using a Richland Lodges receipt number 0109 stole K22, 416 cash, the property of Richland Lodges.
Munyumbwe, however, pleaded not guilty to the second count.
The court adjourned the matter to next week on Wednesday for written facts in respect of count one and mention for count two and accused was on police bond.
