THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) director of legal and corporate services Maureen Mwanza, for corrupt practices involving K50, 000.
Ms Mwanza 37, of house number 21 Ngulube Road, Prospect Hill, Lusaka, is charged with one count of conflict of interest contrary to the Anti-Corruption Act number 38 of 2010.
ACC corporate affairs officer Jonathan Siame confirmed the arrest of Ms Mwanza in a statement yesterday.
Between October 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010, Ms Mwanza did not declare interest in the processing of a loan facility worth K 50,000 to Beta Brothers Enterprises Limited, a company in which her husband, Ben Mwanza is director and shareholder.
Ms Mwanza, who is also a former legal and compliance manager at Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC), has since been granted bond and is scheduled to appear before court soon.
