A 105-YEAR-OLD woman has died after she was allegedly raped by her 29-year-old grandson in Chisamba.
The incident happened after the young man allegedly got aroused after taking an overdose of a sex booster commonly known as ‘mtototo’,
Central Province Police Chief Standwell Lungu has disclosed.
Meanwhile in Monze another woman aged 80 was raped by a 27-year-old man.
In the Chisamba incident, Lucky Simumba is alleged to have forced himself on his great grandmother between January 26 and 27 at her home in Lupiya Village between 20:00 and 07:00 hours.
Mr Lungu, who confirmed the development yesterday, said the body of the deceased was discovered by her granddaughter and that examinations revealed that the old woman had no physical injuries but had white stuff on her private parts.
The police chief said that the suspect, who had just returned from a drinking spree, was alleged to have taken the sex boosters and that upon arrival at home, he forced himself on the deceased woman.
“I can confirm that we are holding a man who is alleged to have raped his 105-year-old great grandmother after he drunk ‘mtototo’, Mr Lungu said.
Meanwhile, in Monze, Chunuka Chopa of Sikamboko Village in Chief Mwaanza’s area has been arrested by police after he allegedly forced himself an old woman.
Southern Province Police Chief Mary Chikwanda confirmed the incident, which happened on Thursday night.
Ms Chikwanda said in an interview yesterday that Chopa allegedly entered in his grandmother’s house at night and raped her, but was later apprehended after police investigations.
“On January 29 this year, officers at Monze Police Station received a report of the woman having been raped and immediately instituted investigations leading to the arrest of Chopa,” Ms Chikwanda said.
