THE Ministry of Health has continued various sensitisation measures on the dangers of Ebola.
Copperbelt province provincial medical officer Consity Mwale said measures included training medical staff on handling Ebola suspected cases.
Dr Mwale said the ministries of Health and Community Development Mother and Child Health were still screening people entering Zambia.
He said his ministry was in touch with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who have also implemented similar measures.
“We have attached staff at the boarder entry and exit points that are able to screen the people coming in the country,” he said.
He said the ministry was also working with various stakeholders and the general community on the importance of screening people upon entering Zambia.
Some entry points where the staff have been assigned to screen people are Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport, Sakania Border, Kasumbalesa Border and Mokambo border.
“We have also been in touch with DRC health authorities who have implemented similar measures on their side,” he said.
He said the staff had also been trained on how to screen and handle suspected Ebola cases.
The staff that were assigned to work at entry points were also supplied with materials and other requirements for screening.
