THE body of veteran politician Elias Chipimo senior who died in South Africa last week is expected to arrive in Zambia today at 12:00 hours at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA).
National Restoration Party (NAREP) head of administration David Kapoma confirmed the arrival of the late Mr Chipimo’s body in an interview yesterday.
Mr Chipimo Snr will be buried on Saturday January 25, 2015 at his residence on Leopards Hill Road near the American International School in Lusaka.
The veteran politician and a freedom fighter died at Linksfield Cancer hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa after suffering from cancer.
The deceased held several positions under first Republican president Kenneth Kaunda and was also the first national chairperson in the MMD regime, he served as ambassador to Japan, United Kingdom and Germany.
