AS Zambia goes to the polls on January 20, it is expected that all political parties will sober up in the fight to get on the grip of power.
Mostly important in this power struggle or contest is that the people’s will, will prevail at the end of the day.
So far, the country has recorded isolated cases of violence which should not be the case and it’s hoped that none of such acts will re-surface.
As can be said in this crèche, “Zambia is a haven of peace” should never be taken for granted as the dynamics of this country are always evolving.
This country has recorded recommendable progress in the past 50 years, but the journey starts now.
So as this long journey continues, it is the wish of all Zambians that it will be peaceful all the way.
What Zambians want is a better place to live in where their abilities can be allowed or fostered to flourish without hindrance.
Every Zambian deserves a better life and it is hoped that whoever carries the mantle to lead the nation will delve as such.
The Patriotic Front Government has so far shown that they are committed to the people’s cause by getting close to the people through infrastructure development.
This can never be taken away from the ruling party. Roads and other buildings such as schools and clinics are being dotted all over the county in an un-precedented manner.
This is what Zambians are looking for and all leaders aspiring for the Presidency should espouse the wishes of the poor and majority of Zambians.
The late President Michel Sata did appeal to the people because of his pro-poor policies. It is hoped that the next Republican President will continue this noble task to delivering to the under privileged.
