VUBWI District has a lot economic potential which investors will soon start exploiting once the the Chipata-Vubwi-Chadiza Road is completely tarred, Vubwi Member of Parliament Margaret Miti has said.
China Jiangxi International Corporation (CJIC) is constructing the road which links the new district to Eastern Province capital, Chipata but was closed for several years.
Ms Miti said the district had the potential for investments such as mining, agriculture and other unexploited investments areas.
She said in an interview in Chipata at the weekend that once the road was done it will open up Vubwi to more economic opportunities.
“Once the road is done investments will start exploiting the potential Vubwi District has in mining, agriculture and also as a gateway to Mozambique and Malawi,” she said.
She explained that some small-scale investors had already moved to Vubwi to invest in the area but noted that with the expected completion of the road works, more would flock to the district.
Ms Miti said there was need for both local and international investors to take advantage of the yawning business opportunities.
