NEW information has emerged that Nkana hitman Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba is wanted by Egyptian club, Wadi Delga who have tabled a ‘lucrative-looking’ contract for the 20-year-old.
This latest development explains why the star striker has not agreed a move to South African sides Platinum Stars and Supersport United.
According to South African publication Laduma, the Egyptian side had been in talks with Nkana and had already tabled the player’s contract with the matter close to being closed.
Kampamba’s agents, Management spokesperson, Vincent Phiri said Wadi Delga had been in constant contact with his agency and that communication had been relayed to Nkana and it seemed ‘things will work out’.
“We have emailed the offer to Nkana FC. Wadi Delga have presented a very lucrative contract for the player. We are waiting to hear from Nkana,” Phiri said.
The same P Management company is the one that first presented an offer to Nkana from Platinum Stars and now brandishing what they are calling a lucrative contract from Wadi Delga, also who own Belgian Second Division team K Lierse SK.
Kampamba, who is in South Africa with the senior national team, was previously rumoured to be set to join Platinum stars on a three-year deal.
Both Platinum Stars and Nkana were said to have provisionally agreed on a transfer fee but the matter drugged on with the player looking at other offers.
Supersport United came out as the most likely destination but failure to close the deal raised eyebrows as to which team was dangling a better deal for the nimble football striker.
Kampamba is with the Chipolopolo presently preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea later this month.
Meanwhile, Supersport.com reports that Nkana have admitted that their bid to try and make defender Christopher Munthali stay permanent, with the record 12-time Zambian league champions is out of their hands.
Munthali has been recalled by his parent club Power Dynamos, after spending two years on loan with their Kitwe archrivals and 2013 MTN Super League champions.
Power have decided to recall Munthali as they prepare to participate in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup in February.
“We have been communicated to by Power Dynamos on the recall of the named player who is on loan with us but the player has not made his position clear on his next move and for us the interest of the player comes first,” Nkana spokersperson Cephas Sinyangwe said.
Munthali’s stint at Nkana also put him in the limelight and earned him a regular Zambia call-up that saw him play in two 2015 Africa Cup qualifying matches.
Power has since registered Munthali for their CAF Confederation Cup outing.
Power will face Al Khartoum of Sudan in the preliminary round and will see the Zambian club travel for the first leg on February 14.
Al Khartoum, will travel to Kitwe on February 28.
