LUSAKA District Electoral Officer (DEO) Alex Mwansa has appealed to voters in Lusaka District to take advantage of the one week voter’s card replacement exercise that starts tomorrow, and ends on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
Mr Mwansa also reiterated his call to Polls Monitoring Agents to accredit for the Tuesday, January 20, 2015 Presidential elections at Nakatindi Hall, Civic Centre warning that the January 17, 2015 deadline will not be extended.
Mr Mwansa, who is also Lusaka city town clerk, advised registered voters who have either lost their voters cards or have their cards defaced or damaged, should get a police report from a police station for free and proceed to the replacement centres with their green National Registration Card (NRC) at the centres that have been announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to get a new
voter’s card.
Meanwhile, Chipata has received some materials for use in preparing for the election.
Chipata District Electoral Officer Davis Musenge confirmed yesterday that the district received the election materials such as polling booths, voter education materials and ballot boxes.
Mr Musenge who is Chipata Town Clerk appealed to people who lost their voters cards and those who want to have theirs replace, to turn up in large numbers during the exercise.
He said the registration exercise would commerce on Monday next week.
