WORLD Boxing Council (WBC) president, Jose Sulaiman, popularly called the father of boxing, has died aged 82.
According to a statement released by WBC yesterday, Sulaiman fought his last ‘12 rounds’ of his life inspired by boxing icon, Mohamed Ali, medical staff as thousands cheered him from all over the world.
Sulaiman earned himself a title of being father of boxing as he treated all fighters as his sons and daughters in his quest to make the sport better and safer.
He was inspired by late world icon, Nelson Mandela to fight against discrimination, apartheid and always struggled to prevent the abuse of power.
