By GRACE CHAILE –
THREE Chipolopolo players, who were injured in a nasty road accident last Sunday, yesterday got some timely Christmas gifts when Samsung Zambia gave them Samsung Galaxy Smart phones.
Samsung gave out the phones to defender Nyambe Mulenga, teenage midfielder Changwe Kalale and goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa when the firm’s country manager James Chona visited them in hospital.
Chona, whose company also donated a tablet to coach Honour Janza, said Samsung Zambia felt obliged to present the new phones to the injured players after the trio lost their mobile phones in the accident which happened in Kabwe.
“We are aware that Kalale’s phone was a Samsung and hence recognise his loyalty to Samsung. The players lost the phones in an accident and we are replacing them with these Samsung Smart phones,” he said.
Janza expressed happiness that Samsung thought of the team during this time.
The tablet has a football software and Janza will no longer need to write on pieces of paper when planning a game or training.
Meanwhile, FAZ communications manager Nkweto Tembwe  said Kalale yesterday underwent surgery at the Italian hospital in Lusaka.
Kalale suffered a spinal injury in the accident which also left Mulenga and Chakawa injured.
