ZAMBEEF Products Plc has recorded a profit of K15.6 million in the second half of 2014 ended September 30, owing to a strong turnaround of the business led by the Group’s core cold chain food products divisions.
Zambeef chairperson Jacob Mwanza said the period under review highlighted better performance compared to the first half of 2014, when performance was adversely affected by macro-economic challenges and external influences.
Dr Mwanza said in an interview yesterday that the first half of 2014, Zambeef recorded a loss before tax of K36.8 million, however, in the second half of 2014 it recorded a profit before tax of K15.6 million.
“In the first half of 2014, performance was adversely affected by macro-economic challenges and external influences, however, the second half of 2014 saw a strong turnaround of the business, led by the Group’s core cold chain food product divisions,” Dr Mwanza said.
