LOCALLY owned Mahogany Air,  which recently suspended operations in the country has expressed interest to resume flight services.
The airline suspended operations in September this year due to the lack of an aircraft after sending its only plane to South Africa for routine maintenance.
Mahogany Air launched its maiden flight in March this year with flights from Lusaka to Ndola, Chipata, Livingstone and Solwezi.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) director general Gabriel Lesa said in an interview in Lusaka that Mahogany Air had approached the authority expressing interest to resume operations.
Mr Lesa said the company could not find a substitute plane but promised to resume operations once they finished working on the one in South Africa.
He said the company had not yet set the date to resume flights but promised to get back to the CAA as soon as possible.
