THE Patriotic Front central committee has resolved to do another accreditation of delegates to its general conference after it was stopped on Friday.
Hundred of delegates gathered at the Mulungushi Rock of Authority as early as 06:00 in readiness for registration that was scheduled for 08;00 hrs. However, the registration could not resume until an announcement was made that acting president guy Scott had called for a central committee meeting at the presidential guest house.
PF secretary general Bridget Atanga told the Sunday Times after the meeting that the central committee had resolved to do accreditation over night to identify the right delegates.
“We have resolved as a central committee to start the accreditation just now (yesterday 18:00 hrs) until in the early hours of tomorrow,” she said.
Meanwhile PF national chairperson Inonge Wina disclosed that the elections had been postponed to allow verification of the party voters register. She pointed out that members who are not allowed to vote will have to leave the venue to pave way for those who are eligible.
She said they will be no short cuts to the process of voting for the party president.
