THE Lusaka man accused of killing his father has denied leading Police officers to the place where his father’s decomposed body was discovered.??
Emmanuel Kamuchele told Kabwe High Court Judge in-charge Mwiinde Siavwapa that Police officers took him to where his fathers body was in the company of other ZAF officers and showed him the body after which they took him back to the car.??
He told the court that as they got to the scene the second time, they made him walk in front and lead the way and also forced him to point at the body as they took photographs of him.??
This is in a case where Kamuchele has been charged with one count of murder for allegedly killing his father Paul Kamuchele, a retired officer in the Zambia Air force (ZAF) Lieutenant in Mumbwa District.??
Kamuchele on December 29, 2013 is alleged to have murdered Paul Kamuchele in Mumbwa District.??
Kamuchele on December 27, 2014 travelled to Mumbwa to reconcile with his father and on December 29, 2014 his father gave him a lift to board a bus back to Lusaka after which his father went missing.??
During trial Police officers told court that Kamuchele led them to the scene where a Toyota Carina Reg No AJB 4723 was found and the decomposed body of his father.??
One of the officers chief inspector Muka Sifuwe of Mumbwa Police Station told the court that on January 4, 2014 he together with other officers were led to the scene of crime by Kamuchele where they recovered a car and the decomposed body.??
Mr Sifuwe told the court that when he reached the scene of the crime, he found the car and the doors were locked after which he opened it , inspected it and found some blood stains on the back seats and empty ammunition cartridges.??
Kamuchele insisted that he did not kill his father despite the fact that his relationship with him was not good.??
He told court that he had travelled to Mumbwa to talk to his father over some family issues among them over his young sister who had called him to inform him that the father had told her to drop out of school as he was no longer going to pay her school fees.??
Kamuchele said he travelled to Mumbwa to seek audience with his father over the matter and also to reconcile with him as the relationship they shared was not damaged.??
He told court that he tried to talk to the father who refused to compromise and told him never to speak to him again after which he said he left Mumbwa on the December 29, 2013 for Lusaka between 06:00 hours and 07:00 hours.??
Mr Justice Siavwapa has set Monday November 24 for submissions from the State and the defence and November 27, 2014 as the day for judgment.
