THE Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) has urged the Government to address the factors which are hindering growth in the tourism sector.
ZTB managing director Felix Chaila said there was need for Government to move quickly and remove barriers which had hindered growth in the industry.
He cited the yellow fever certificate demand by South Africa from tourists coming to Zambia and the high visa fees as some of the barriers that have impacted negatively on the tourism industry.
Mr Chaila said that Government should ensure the yellow fever certificates demand by South Africa was lifted as this was making Zambia an uncompetitive tourism destination.
Commending Zambian tour operators for scooping safari awards during the recent 2015 Safari competition held in the United Kingdom (UK) in London, Mr Chaila said that the Government should review the Visa fees to make Zambia more competitive with other countries in the region.
