SUN FM radio celebrated its one year anniversary flamboyantly recently.
The anniversary celebration which took place at Ndola’s Savoy Hotel recently attracted scores of people from all walks of life.
Various performances characterised the event. Face of a Child cultural group from Ndola’s Kantolamba area spiced-up the show with their amazing display of talent.
The kids were a marvel to watch as the audience joined the dance — beating the drums hard.
Other acts included a Salsa dance and a performance from a local artiste.
Listening to Sun Fm is like going on a voyage of discovery that leaves lots of memories with it.
The Saturday afternoon slot was filled with Rhumba classics of yester-years including Sam Mangwana, Mbilia Bel, Tshala Muana, Tabuley, Wenge Musica, Papa Wemba, Madilu System, Josky
Kiambukuta, Five Stars and a host of other legends who popularised Rhumba music to the world.
Sun FM radio presenters have got it covered from Kalindula, Golden Oldies, Zambian or rather Zed beats, Gospel, Country, House and RnB music, among others.
Sun FM Broadcasts from Ndola to the entire Copperbelt on 88.5FM.
It was opened last year and is privately owned by Davies Kabuswe, a land economist.
His passion for broadcasting led him to open-up a radio station; something of a dream come true.
