KABWE Warriors today host fellow relegation contenders Green Buffaloes at Sunset Stadium in a match that will see the two troubled sides battling for maximum points to remain in the elite league.
Another MTN-FAZ Premier League Week 29 clash sees Zesco United play Nakambala Leopards in Mazabuka eyeing three points to move them closer to claiming the title over their hosts who are in a desperate need of points to escape the relegation waters.
Warriors v Buffaloes
Buffaloes have had a difficult and inconsistent season that has seen the army side battling for survival though going by the recent performances the Bilton Musonda coached side has shown signs of improvement but coming rather a little too late.
Warriors are on 33 points, just one ahead of their visitors and Mohammed Fathy knows too well that a win would almost guarantee them stay in the top flight league but not underrate their opponents.
Fathy will bank on the likes of Josephat Kasusu, Lameck Kafwaya, veteran Siloni Jere, Derrick Mwansa and Jacob Phiri among others to deliver him victory a side that held them to a 1-all draw in the reserve fixture played at Woodlands Stadium.
Buffaloes head into this clash at the background of a 5-1 hammering of Nakambala Leopards in a Week 28 match and Musonda will look up to Felix Sunzu junior, who netted a brace in that victory, to continue with his form along with the likes of Mambo Phiri, Stephen Kabamba and Sebastian Mwansa.
Nakambala v Zesco
This match to be beamed live on SuperSport features two teams with different ambitions as Nakambala are avoiding relegation while Zesco smell winning the league title.
Zesco are on 56 points and 26 clear of Nakambala whom both Power Dynamos and Zanaco will be hoping wins the match to dent the Ndola side title chase with a game remaining before the close of the season.
Though Nakambala Stadium is a difficult place to go, odds favour Zesco to complete a double over the side they beat 3-1 in Ndola to edge near or to be crowned champions depending on yesterday’s and their result today.
Coach George Lwandamina said his team is ready for the mammoth task that lies in Mazabuka and that Zesco is aware of the fact that the encounter may be a few points away from being crowned 2014 champions.
