KITWE –
NKANA have filed a complaint with the Football Association of Zambia over the eligibility of Indeni defender Mathews Bwalya.
Nkana claim the player still has a valid contract with the Kitwe club and was never cleared to play for Indeni.
“The Football Association of Zambia Disciplinary Committee has not yet ruled on the protest by Nkana Football club on Indeni’s alleged use of an ineligible player, Mathews Bwalya,” FAZ spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe said.
“Nkana Football club protested claiming that Bwalya who even featured in the game when the two sides met had not been cleared by the Kitwe giants and was still their player.
“On the other side, Indeni have insisted Nkana had cleared Bwalya.
“The Committee considered submissions from both sides and referred the matter to the Office of the Registrar at Football House, to determine how the player was registered.”
Nkana are currently fourth on the table on 49 points while Indeni are second from bottom in 15th position on 27 points with two games left to play before the 2014 FAZ Super League season comes to a close.
Meanwhile, Nkana and Indeni this season played out to two league draws after finishing scoreless in the first leg meeting in Ndola in May before finishing 1-1 in Kitwe in September. – Supersport.com
