A MAN of Namwala, who is alleged to have murdered his wife by stabbing her with a sharp object, has committed suicide.
Police in Namwala discovered the body of the 35-year-old man of Nakombama Village who allegedly killed his 30-year-old wife using a sharp instrument.
Castro Bulambo, on Friday last week around 15:00 hours, allegedly killed his wife, Elina Kanoma, of the same area and later bolted after hacking her on the head.
Southern Province Police Chief, Mary Chikwanda yesterday said Bulambo was discovered dead on Sunday in Mayumba Village of Chief Nalubamba’s area in Namwala.
Bulambo is suspected to have committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope to a tree on Sunday around 08:30 hours.
“Robby Ntabula of Mayumba Village reported that a body of a man identified as Castro Bulambo was found dead around 08:30hours on Sunday. He had committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope,’’ Ms Chikwanda said.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy of Mwanaute village of Mufumbwe District in North-Western Province has allegedly been murdered by his uncle.
Moses Mundanya was beaten to death by his uncle Danny Mundanya, 48, who has since been arrested.
North-Western Province Commissioner of Police Eugine Sibote said the boy was murdered around 03:00 hours in the morning.
Danny Mundanya allegedly went home drunk and started beating the boy until he died.
Mundanya has been arrested and is custody at Mufumbwe Police and will soon appear in court.
