AS the country commemorates 50 years on Independence today, shop owners and traders alike may at least consider giving a 50 per cent discount on selected products throughout this long weekend.
Shopping vouchers to a lucky 50 customers on first come, first serve basis will also not be a bad idea especially for the chain stores.
This may not necessarily be done to encourage competition but to give customers a memorable jubilee commemoration to mark an impeccable milestone.

RECENTLY Shoprite partnered with Stanbic Bank Zambia to offer money transfer service in all Shoprite branches countrywide.
Talking shop has observed that the money transfer is attracting a lot of clients who are forming long queues to send and receive money to the low charge attached on sending money.
Customers are only charged K5.90 to send up to K5,000 Kwacha thereby offering competitive money transfer service compared to other money transfer service providers.
