THE Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) has said the country will
receive normal rainfall for the 2014/2015 rainy season.
ZMD director Jacob Nkomoki said during the period, October, November and December, the whole country was expected to receive normal rainfall.
Mr Nkomoki said this in a statement issued on the seasonal rainfall forecast for 2014/2015.
“For the period November, December and January (NDJ), Northern districts of Eastern Province and the eastern districts of Muchinga Province are likely to receive normal rainfall while the rest of Zambia is expected to receive normal to above normal rainfall,” he said.
In December, January and February, the whole country is expected to have an increased chance of receiving normal to above normal rainfall.
For the period January, February and March, Lusaka, Southern and the southern districts of Western provinces were expected to record normal rainfall.
Mr Nkomoki said that the rest of the country had the probability of receiving normal to above normal rainfall.
