POWER Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga is among 26 local based players that coach Honour Janza has summoned to the Chipolopolo squad ahead of international friendly match against Ivory Coast set for October 25.
Ng’onga bounces back to the squad for the first time since his last participation at the 2013 CECAFA Senior Challenge tournament held in Kenya where Zambia came out third.
The provisional squad that goes into camp on Monday also sees the inclusion of Green Eagles goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa who joins Danny Munyau of Red Arrows and Power’s Joshua Titima.
Zanaco’s defence duo of Rodrick Kabwe and Fackson Kapumbu, who both featured in the Chipolopolo 3-1 victory against Sudan in an international friendly, have been included along with the Napsa Stars pair of Kapota Kayawe and Boyd Mkandawire.
Others include defenders Christopher Munthali and Donashano Malama (Nkana), Power’s Alex Mwamba, Adrian Chama of Green Buffaloes and Zesco’s Nyambe Mulenga.
The mid fielders are Richard Kasonde of Power who returns to the squad together
with teammate Julius Situmbeko.
Janza has also given a nod to Spencer Sautu (Green Eagles), Red Arrows’ trio of Bruce Musakanya, Patrick Ngoma and Shadreck Malambo, Charles Zulu (Zanaco), Larry Bwalya (Nchanga Rangers) and Fwayo Tembo (unattached).
The strikers are Given Sinyangwe (Roan United), Chisenga Lukwembe (Napsa Stars) Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba (Nkana), Humphrey Maseneko (Konkola Blades) and Ng’onga.
The Ivory Coast friendly is part of preparations for the crucial 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Mozambique and Cape Verde to be played on November 15 and 19 in Maputo and Ndola respectively.
