VISITING Angolan External Relations Minister Georges Chicoti has paid glowing tribute to first Republican President Kenneth Kaunda for the role he played in the liberation of Angola.
Speaking when he called on Dr Kaunda in Lusaka on Monday, Mr Chicoti said the former president and Zambia would always be remembered for the great role they played in liberating Angola.
Earlier Mr Chicoti delivered a letter from Angolan President José Eduardo Dos Santos to republican President Michael Sata.
Mr Chicoti delivered the letter to the President through Vice-President Guy Scott when he met him on Monday at his office.
He also held meetings with Commerce, Trade and Industry, and Transport and Communications ministers Bob Sichinga and Yamfwa Mukanga respectively.
Mr Chicoti discussed plans to increase trade between Zambia and Angola with Mr Sichinga, while he discussed putting up a rail line that would link Zambia with Angola and promote trade and development, with Mr Mukanga .
He left the country yesterday.
