A TEENAGER in Mazabuka was on Wednesday morning found abandoned in the bush where he was tied to a tree.
Police suspect that the boy, who is about 14-years-old, was mentally ill and relatives took him into the bush and tied him to a tree.
Southern Province Deputy Police chief, Milner Muyambango said the boy was discovered in Magoye area.
Mr Muyambango said the teenager was found tied to a tree by a passerby around 11:00 hours on Wednesday.
He said the boy was taken to the Social Welfare Department in Mazabuka where he was being kept.
Police have instituted investigations and appealed to members of the public to help trace the relatives of the boy.
Meanwhile, a man of Kapiri Mposhi has committed suicide after beating his 10-year-old daughter to death.
Central Province Police chief Standwell Lungu said Peter Mulilwa, 42, committed suicide after murdering his Child.
Mr Lungu said the deceased murdered his 10-year-old daughter on Tuesday and severely beat up his other daughter aged eight who is in Hospital.
Mr Lungu said the bodies of Mulilwa and his daughter were at Kabwe General Hospital mortuary.
