ROAN Member of Parliament (MP) Chishimba Kambwili is disappointed that the road rehabilitation in Luanshya is not evenly distributed between Luanshya and Roan constituencies.
Mr Kambwili, who is Minister of Youth and Sport said that from the 29 kilometres of roads earmarked for rehabilitation, Roan Constituency only had seven.
He observed when he visited his constituency at the weekend that there was unequal distribution of kilometres of roads to work on between the Roan and Luanshya constituencies.
“I was not pleased with the distribution of road kilometres to work on between Roan and Luanshya constituencies, we were supposed to get 14 kilometres of road constructions in each constituency but Luanshya was given 22 and Roan got seven kilometres,” Mr Kambwili said.
He said the director of infrastructure in Luanshya should, therefore, revisit the programme.
Mr Kambwili said there was no reason for unequal distribution of resources because both constituencies where fighting for a better Luanshya.
“We fight for the entire Luanshya and when resources are given, it should be given equitably,” he said?Mr Kambwili said he also visited Twashuka Secondary School, a new hospital in Section 25, a new clinic between Section Two and Four and inspected the quality of road construction.
He said he was pleased with the progress of the school, and the renovation of Roan General Hospital which would be handed over to the public next month.
