ZAMBIA’S Madalitso Muthiya yesterday finished poorly at the Vodacom Origins of Golf tournament at Vaal de Grace Golf Estate in South Africa posting a 215 one under-par score.
Muthiya’s score was worsened by a poor last round where he shot two-over-par 74, on a day when his other mates were posting impressive scores like eight under-par at the tournament sponsored by Samsung.
This was after two impressive rounds where he brought home two-under-par 70 and one under-par 71 respectively thereby managing to make the cut in a highly competitive field.
The unimpressive third round score brought down his overall score to 215 one-under-par and took him down the leaderboard.
As Muthiya was watching his game desert him, leader of the first two days PH McIntyre of South Africa increased score from 12-under to an impressive 16-under, which is 15 strokes ahead of Zambia’s best player.
Mclntyre was, however, joined at the top by Jake Ross on 200 16-under-par and the next batch of players following them were in distant second on 12-under-par 204 and included former Zambia Open winner Tyrone Ferreira.
Wallie Coetsee, the 2014 Mopani Zambia Open winner, finished on 11-under
