BESTON Chambeshi has said Wednesday’s draw with Nakambala Leopards has put Nkana’s title defence in a difficult situation.
Nkana were held to a scoreless draw at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe by eighth positioned Nakambala to slightly recover from last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Nchanga Rangers at the same venue.
“It is becoming difficult to defend the league but otherwise we cannot rule ourselves out, we just have to pick ourselves up,” Chambeshi said.
The result left Nkana still rooted in fifth place on the MTN/FAZ Super League table on 43 points, eight behind leaders Zanaco with five games left to play.
Meanwhile, Nakambala coach, Wilson Mwale said the result against Nkana is as good as a win.
The draw saw Nakambala maintain their unbeaten run against Nkana this season whom they beat 1-nil in the first leg meeting on June 25.
“For us, Nkana is a big team so a draw here is like a win. I am extremely happy with the performance of my team,” Mwale said.
