By JOWIT SALUSEKI –

RENOWNED actor Patrick Salubusa otherwise popularly known as Saulos is today and tomorrow expected to launch his latest comedy DVD entitled Komboni Ambassador at the Lusaka Playhouse.
The 70-minute stand up comedy piece promises to be a basket full of light hearted jokes; what with its komboni life verses the Mayadi (low density) comparisons portrayed in the play.
“The central theme of the comedy package came about after I started receiving numerous requests from my fans who have been asking me if at all the jokes that I usually make were already on DVD. Most people used to call me as komboni ambassador, hence as a birthday present to my fans on Zambia’s 50 years of independence, I thought of coming up with a DVD comedy depicting a communication of the reality of life in the ‘shanty’ compounds,” Saulos told DStv Entertainment.
As if to add icing on the cake, Bashi Ng’onga of the popular ZNBC’s Radio 1 Bemba programme from whose Saulos draws inspiration, will be opening the stage with his weird stage antics.
Attendees will also expect intrigues and should brace themselves with laughter stitches as Isaac Chamba, an actor cut from a different cloth  will as well offload his very best.
The young and gifted folk musician Mumba Yachi is also expected to enthrall the crowd with his poetic and soothing music tunes.
A sketch entitled the Mazyopa Police will also be on the comedy menu at tonight’s and Saturday’s shows.
Asked on how he has managed to ensure that the DVD is not pirated and find itself sold on the streets where counterfeit materials are fetching between K3 and K5, Saulos said:
“We have made about 20,000 copies of which 5,000 are already in the country and since piracy seems to be thriving due to inadequate original copies on the market, we  have already engaged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting  Services for holograms.”
Saulos says besides that, he has partnered with ZNBC, the Great North Academy and other stakeholders to help him sell his DVD products.
Meanwhile, Saulos has urged film producers in Zambia to belong to the National Media Association of Arts (NAMA) in order to help the growth of the film industry in the country.
The expected guest of honour at tonight’s show is NAMA patron Mwansa Kapeya, while tomorrow, Kabwata Member of Parliament (MP) Given Lubinda who is inseparable from art will close the show.
