Police capBy REBECCA MUSHOTA –

THREE men purporting to be selling an unregistered car from Nakonde, have stolen K50,000 from a teacher of Samfya District.
The three men on Monday afternoon allegedly met Blackson Kakembwe, a teacher at Makasa Primary School, of Sekendi Village in Chief Kasoma Bangweulu’s area in Samfya in the town centre and showed him an unregistered Toyota Nadia which had a transit registration of AIB 1009 which they were selling.
Luapula Province Police chief Malcolm Mulenga said Mr Kakembwe advised the three men that he would purchase the car the following day but the men seemed to be in a hurry to leave Samfya and advised him to borrow the money.
Mr Mulenga said Mr Kakembwe had at the time K30, 000 and then borrowed K20,000 from a named micro-finance lending institution.
Mr Mulenga said the men only called Mr Kakembwe at 20:30 hours and advised him to meet them at a roadside near his house.
Mr Kakembwe left his home to meet the men leaving his children sleeping and the money on the bed and did not lock the door to his house.
While he was at the meeting place, Mr Mulenga said the three men did not turn up and Mr Kakembwe left the spot to go back home.
When he got home, Mr Kakembwe found the door to his house wide open and the K50,000 missing.
