THE Kaunga Lyeti Bridge on Kaunga Lyeti River in Nalolo District of Western Province has been completed, District Commissioner Mundia Samweene has said.
The bridge connects the new district to Kalabo, Shangombo, Sioma and Sesheke districts as well as connecting the West and East banks of Senanga districts.
“The Kaunga Lyeti bridge has been completed waiting commissioning,” Mr Samweene said.
The district commissioner said the bridge was constructed at a cost of two million kwacha by the Zambia Army personnel.
Meanwhile, the construction of Nalolo Secondary School has reached an advanced stage with 27 teachers’ houses at roof level.
“The other works on the dormitory, administration bloc and other buildings for the school are at slab level,” he said.
Mr Samweene added that two primary schools have been upgraded to secondary schools. Muoyo and Nambwae are now secondary schools.
The new district is also set to benefit six rural health centres from the 650 health posts the Government is constructing countrywide.
“The construction of the Silowana, Mukumuntu, Mande, Siloloti, Nalombe and Sipungu health posts has started, we are now waiting for the prefabricated buildings to arrive,” he said.
The district commissioner was speaking in Nalolo recently.
