UNIP counsels on Constitution

OPPOSITION UNIP president Tilyenji Kaunda has called for consensus in the constitution making process.?Mr Kaunda said all Zambians needed to contribute to the making of the country’s supreme law for them to enjoy its content.
He said in an interview yesterday that no one had the moral right to dictate the making of the Constitution.
Mr Kaunda said people were looking forward to a people-driven Constitution which could only come into being by all contributing to it.
Mr Kaunda also said there was need for the country to embrace a more loving and peaceful atmosphere so that Zambians could continue living in harmony.
He said the unity the country had enjoyed for 50 years was enviable to many countries.?Mr Kaunda also urged the PF Government to invest more in children’s education as it was a cornerstone for any kind of development.
He said UNIP was looking forward to a pro-poor National Budget which should have strong pronouncements on education and health.
Mr Kaunda said that Government knows the priorities that needed much attention in the national budget such as the education, infrastructure and health.
He said currently Zambia was behind on industrialisation and it needed to catch up by allocation more funds to it.
Mr Kaunda further said the country also needed to invest more in food production because it was an important sector of the economy.?He said his party had a better chance of scooping the 2016 election because it was faring well in the political arena.
