IF you missed last Sunday’s live edition of South Africa’s leading musical reality show Idols, you should regret having done so as it was one of the most captivating shows ever in this 10th season.
Special performance by America’ renowned producer and song writer ,Golden Chamber collaborating with Unati Mseng’ana was one of the superb moments of the show as Unati showed the audience why she is judge of other people’s singing.
It was a brilliant, slow but rich performance by the two seasoned singers with Unati adding colour and slender to the whole performance with her bright yellow flared long skirt.
Anyway it was not their show but thanks to them for adding much required sweet monotony breaker to the whole show.
This was the show for the finest 11 baling it out for the top 9 slots.
Now there is one very interesting thing to the whole show.
History of a winning name might just repeat itself this year as Musa Mashiane (24) from eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, has continued to grab the audiences and Judge’s hearts.
In case you don’t know what we are talking about, last season 9 saw a Musa the last person to be audition win the Idols 2013.
Now coincidentally this year it was again another Musa auditioning last in the season 10 and certainly headed for victory! What a sweet twist of fate.
They are 11 powerful hopefuls asking for South Africa’s votes on Sunday as Randall warned that there was no room for era.
Bongi Silinda (23), a professional back-up singer from Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, Cape Town was the first in the quest with Tina Tana leaving the audience chanting her name.
It was a flawless performance according to the judges.
Then came London Louw (24), whose performance was also good.
Vincent V was the third to ask for votes through a track Fly like an eagle Before another amazing singer Tumi Morobane, 21, a first-year Musical Theatre student at the Tshwane University of Technology, took to the stage. Randall thought Tumi was great!
Ivan was next and made sure he performed to impress as he executed a track Princess Kiss which made him leave the stage to kiss Unati on the chic as part of the performance.
On giving opinions, Unati sent the audience into serious laughter when she said: “I love your lips!”
From a poor performance last time Kyle Deutschmann (27), a chiropractor from KwaZulu Natal proved that he was not intending to bow out anytime soon.
Musa was executed a sweet romantic track I’ve got a woman that left many again chanting his name. Without doubt and going by the judge’s opinion, Musa was the best act of the night.
Vincent Bones (29), a worship leader from Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu Natal, was another stunning performer though not a match to Musa.
Lize Mynhardt (21), a B. Comm student from Stellenbosch University, was the last to perform before the judges’ choice duo of Demi Lee (24) and 20-year-old Roxy McVean, put up disappointing performances.
They have performed and you have voted, the interesting question that will be unanswered on Sunday is which of the two out of the 11 will be parching their bags?
DStv Mzansi Magic Channel 161 will be giving you these interesting results on Sunday at 17:00 hours. Miss by choice.
