LUSAKA live performing band Gibson and Friends gave Ndola residents a treat at Bojangles Restaurant, when they performed music from the past to present.
The band led by Gibson Zacks, who happens to be lead singer, took patrons down memory lane with songs of yesteryears done by different artists on the golden era, which included Songs of Cool & the Gang, UB 40, Michael Jackson, Leonel Richie, Pociano Kaiche, Jean Orsbone, Mike Nyoni and several others.
Some patrons could not help bad dance along and beat went one.
Impact Band front man and keyboard player Chenge Chibanda, featured as a backup support for two nights.
Ndola based singer Mwila Mulenga also wowed patrons with accurate copyright performances.
Gibson has been running his band for the last 10 years has had good times and bad times in the entertainment business.
He has had the privilege to work under the likes of Maureen Llilanda, Jane Osborn and Pontiano Kaiche.
“I started music with the impact band under Chenge Chibanda. I learnt alot till I found myself in formal employment for a few years then joined a band called Q1 with great guitarist Mike Mukumbo, Steve Kambilombilo on drums, Joe Cocker on bass and myself on lead voice. We had quite a nice run then I had to move on and that’s when we started Gibson and Friends,” he said.
Anyhow, Gibson and friends got the job done.
