SYLVESTER Mwila has appealed against the two-year ban slapped on him by the Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) disciplinary committee last month.

Mwila, who is former Mr Zambia, is also appealing against the federation’s decision to grab his title after lashing out at the prize money that was given out during the bodybuilding contest, calling it trash.

He further went on to accuse the current ZBBFF executive for failing to run the affairs of the sport.

ZBBFF president Danny Mkandawire announced this during a media briefing held at Villa Executive Lodge in Lusaka yesterday that the disciplinary committee will look at Mwila’s appeal following the ban.

Mkandawire also said that the extra ordinary annual general meeting that was called for by some ‘affiliates’ would not been held because it was only a selected bodybuilders who met last weekend in Lusaka and resolved to pass a vote of no confidence against his executive.

He said his executive met with various midlands club chairpersons with the aim of finding a lasting solution to the differences that have engulfed the federation.

But Mkandawire said the chairpersons were unaware of the accusations that were labeled against the ZBBFF executive because it was false.

About eight midlands affiliates last weekend met at TNT Gymnasium where they resolved to pass vote of no confidence in the executive accusing it of failing to present financial reports and represent the members ably.

“It is not the chairmen that passed the vote of no confidence motion in the ZBBFF executive but a few bodybuilders that want to take advantage of the situation to satisfy their selfish egos. Most of the issues that the bodybuilders raised were unfounded and that the bodybuilders have been identified.

But for the sake of sports development, we shall not take immediate action for the sake of sports development but at an appropriate time the bodybuilders shall be called to exculpate themselves because we shall not tolerate such acts anymore,” he said.
