A NINE-month-old baby of Kalundu Township in Monze District has allegedly been defiled by an unknown person.
The defiler allegedly took advantage of the absence of the mother to defile the baby outside the house.
Southern Province police chief, Mary Chikwanda, confirmed the incident which was reported to Monze Police Station by the victim’s mother at the weekend.
Ms Chikwanda said in an interview yesterday that the baby sustained bruises on her private parts after being defiled on Saturday.
“On September 14, 2014, we received a report in which a woman of Kalundu Township in Monze reported on behalf on her nine-month old daughter who was defiled by an unknown person,” she said.
Ms Chikwanda said that the baby was rushed to the hospital for treatment after a medical form was issued.
