Sharks girls beat Lusaka Tigress

SHARKS girls beat Lusaka Tigress 1-0 in a Teulings Hockey Youth games held at the weekend at Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) in Lusaka.
The numerous attempts to score by Sharks girls in the first half could not yield any results as Lusaka Tigress’ defence was tightly manned. However, Lusaka Tigress lost concentration in the last minutes of the game giving Sharks opportunity to finish as victors through a lone goal.
In other results, Sharks Shakia boys drew 2-all against Young Sharks gunners however the latter beat Shining Stars 4-3.
In basketball under-15 girls, Sport in Action (SIA) drew 10-all with Breath of Heaven in the first game. Leopards club won all the two games by beating SIA 28-12 and Breath of Heaven 21-5.
The under-15 boys’ fixture saw Bull Dogs lose to Mapoloto 23-17 while Chawama Edusport humbled Hurricanes 25-16.
Leopards beat Buffaloes 23-14 with Bull Dogs thumping Northmead Secondary school 20-2 in the second, while SIA thrashed Chawama Edusport 26-14.
Buffaloes produced mixed results in the last two games when they humbled Kabulonga secondary school 17-3 but lost 7-17 to SIA. The other second games results saw Leopards pound Mukango 28-6.
Matero Magic beat Jamlek 21-8, Hurricans 9-2 and Badoko 11-9 in the under 13 basketball games, while Wild Dogs lost 10-15 to Badoko,1-16 to SIA and only managed to beat Kabulonga primary 8-2 in  the last game.
And OYDC basketball coordinator John Zimba said the boys and girls have so much talent and will soon put those that extremely do well on talent identification programme.
